I strive to live our mission and guiding principles every day when I’m at work. I feel personally responsible for making sure that every person I interact with has an excellent experience. For me, this means treating my patients as though they are members of my own family.
One weekend, I received a call to come in to the hospital after hours to treat a young lady. She was afraid. Her sister and cousin came with her and prayed with her, and you could see that they loved her very much. They were amazed not only that I came in on the weekend to care for her, but also that I was happy to do it. They were so grateful.
When someone comes back later and says, “Thank you for being so kind and so good and so caring,” what better reward is there?
