We serve patients of East Los Angeles and the surrounding communities ranging from seniors recovering from neurologic conditions to teens and adults with physical impairments resulting from injuries. A team of highly skilled clinicians with specialties in a variety of fields comprise our staff. Treatment plans are individualized to meet patient’s needs based on their condition, goals and function.

Cardiac Rehabilitation
The cardiac rehabilitation program is a 6-12 weeks outpatient program of monitored exercise. It is a medically supervised program to help heart patients recover more quickly and improve overall physical and mental functioning. The goal is to keep an already present heart condition from worsening and to improve quality of life.

 

Education and Counseling On:

  • Aerobic Exercise Diabetes
  • Diet and Nutrition Medication
  • Risk Factors for Heart Disease Angina
  • Stress Management Smoking Cessation
  • Hypertension Exercise Guidelines and Limits
  • Cholesterol Return to Sexual Activities

 

 

Staff:
Includes a Registered Nurse (RN) trained in telemetry and advanced life support with extensive experience working with patients with cardiac problems. The White Memorial Medical Center cardiac rehabilitation program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). Such an achievement represents the highest quality standard of patient care.

Wound Care Services
Comprehensive outpatient services for a variety of wounds such as:

  • Vascular Ulcers
  • Diabetic Ulcers
  • Pressure Ulcers
  • Post-Surgical Wounds
  • Burns
  • Non-Healing and Delayed Healing Wounds
  • Trauma Wounds
  • Infected Wounds

 

We use a variety of advanced therapies and wound care modalities:

  • Selective Debridement
  • Advanced Dressings
  • Pulsatile Lavage with Suction
  • High Voltage Pulsed Current
  • Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
  • Multi-Layer Compression Bandage Systems

 

Staff:
A Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) on staff provides supervision and treatment.

 

Upper Extremity Program
The upper extremity rehabilitation program is a medically supervised program that includes treatment of very complex hand and upper extremity problems as well as the common sprain, strain and pain, from the wound healing stage and edema control through the strengthening and scar remodeling phase.

Staff:
A Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) provides the evaluation and treatment.

Aquatics
Therapist supervised pool therapy for patients with a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions such as stroke, joint replacements, spine surgery and arthritis to name a few. Exercises are carried out in a heated therapeutic pool with dressing rooms and showers.

 

EEG
Outpatient neurodiagnostics to aid in effective diagnosis and management of neurological disorders. This includes electroencephalograph (EEG), brainstem auditory evoked potential (BAER) and visual evoked response (VER). These tests are conducted by a highly skilled EEG technologist who has received specific training in the field of electroneurodiagnostics.
