Dr. Ramadas Abboy, MD has been practicing Pulmonary, Critical Care and Internal Medicine at White Memorial Medical Center since 1978. He has been the Medical Director of the Respiratory Care Department for the past ten years. Dr. Abboy has participated in the growth of the department since the primitive days of IPPB machines were used as ventilators to the current wonder ventilators of our times. Dr. Abboy is also the founder-president of Indo-American Foundation, Inc., an organization that focuses on helping to educate children in rural India for more than 25 years.
Dr. Abboy was educated in Stanley Medical College, Chennai, India. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital, Illinois and Pulmonary Fellowship at LAC/USC Medical Center, Los Angeles. He spends his time at WMMC and enjoys the practice of medicine. He enjoys keeping current on world events and discussing a variety of topics with his friends.
Rick Kenney, MSM, RRT, RCP
Director of Respiratory Care Services
Rick Kenney is a Registered Respiratory Therapist with over 30 years of clinical and leadership experience in Cardiopulmonary Services. Having practiced as a Respiratory Therapist in Nebraska and Illinois before recently moving to Los Angeles, Rick’s leadership experience spans a couple decades from supervisory roles to managerial, to directorial positions. In Rick’s last position he was the Director over Respiratory Care, Non-invasive cardiology, Rehabilitative Services, and Nuerodiagnostic Services.
Rick earned his Bachelor’s in Healthcare Leadership and his Masters of Science in Management (MSM) from National Louis University. Rick is excited to be moving to LA and to be a part of another AH organization. He is passionate about patient safety and satisfaction, in addition to staff satisfaction and growth; in his words, “We are here for our patients, and we should always remember that.”
Lana Bamiro, MPH, MBA, RRT, CHES
Manager of Respiratory Care Services
Olulana “Lana” Bamiro is a Registered Respiratory Therapist with about 10 years of clinical and leadership experience in Respiratory Care. Originally from Nigeria, he moved to the United States in 2002 to pursue higher educations that lead him into the healthcare industry. Before moving to Los Angeles, Lana practiced as a Respiratory Therapist in Texas, and recently Oklahoma where he lead a team of clinicians as a Supervisor for about 3 years.
Lana has his Bachelor’s in Respiratory Care & Health Administration from Mountain State University, Beckley, WV, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, OK, and a Masters of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in health promotion sciences (inclusive of preventive health and education) from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City, OK. Lana is passionate about his faith in Christ, Public Health, and Education; he believes “The pursuit of a higher education, at levels beyond your present accomplishments, improves all aspects of your life.”
