What started out as a simple desire for French language immersion became the establishing of authentic friendships and professional involvement with the OB/GYN department at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Designed presentations for local high schools about the prevention and pathology of HIV/AIDS for Students Teaching AIDS to Students. While on a medical mission to Peru with the Peruvian American Medical Society, I helped provide medical care and assisted on procedures with various specialty physicians. Conducted research in the areas of identifying the source of errors in prescription writing and serving as a Cardiovascular lab co-leader regarding Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome.

• Personal Accomplishments: I had the opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic for a month-long rotation with my medical school to provide care to underserved women of the various communities. It was very rewarding to see about 300 patients in a four-week period. It was also a very eye-opening experience to be immersed in such a vibrant and lively culture!
